We all want to make the most of our summers, whether it’s traveling the world or creating fun memories with family and friends that will last a lifetime. Summer is the season that you feel obligated to fill up with awesome adventures and activities that will leave you feeling fulfilled once it’s over.

However, depending on what you want or plan on doing during the summer can cost money that you may not have or can’t afford to spend. With that being said, here are a few inexpensive ideas that can help make your Summer 17’ one to remember.

Facebook’s Events tab: Facebook’s Events tab does not only show your friends up and coming birthdays but also events that are happening in and around your area. You can find shows, music concerts, food festivals, and more on there just by scrolling. I myself found a rooftop brunch that was happening about a half hour away from where I live for my girls me to attend this past Sunday and we had a great time.

Escape the Room: This activity is something one of my friends just told me about that our crew will be doing this summer. It’s called Escape the Room. The way it works is you and your group of friends are put in a mystery room that you must solve and your only way out of the room is by solving the mystery.

Escape the Room’s website has a few different mystery options to choose from and the ticket price is $25 per person. Now this particular Escape the Room I’m referring to is located in NYC, but you can Google search “escape the room game” to find a place like this in your area.

Game night: Being at home with all your closest friends drinking, talking, laughing and playing a board game, can turn any “regular” night into a fun-filled one. Game nights with your squad can be a go-to simple and chill activity to do when you all don’t necessarily want to be out somewhere.

Have a few different drinking options and finger foods on hand so no one goes hungry or thirsty. When I host game night at my house, I usually tell my friends ahead of time to “BYOB” (bring your own bottle) and we all chip in for a pizza.

Travel: Traveling to a beautiful island with your favorite people in the world can be a blast but can also be expensive. My go-to website for looking at potential trips for my friends and I to go on without breaking our banks is cheapcaribbean.com.

Cheap Caribbean’s website offers a plethora of different packages that include flight and hotel stay for whatever island you and your friends would like to travel to. For my birthday last year, a few of my girlfriends and I went to Cancun on a Friday morning through a Sunday afternoon for $600 per person. The $600 we spent included our round trip flight and stay at an adult-only all inclusive resort.

Cookouts: A fun summer is never completed without having or attending a cookout. Cookouts are a “summer staple” and everyone is always sure to have a good time at one. Whether you host one in your backyard, at a park or beach, bringing all your family and friends together for a cookout will guarantee you all will make endless memories. Having everyone bring something also helps ease the cost of buying everything for the cookout to be a success.

So, cheers to having a great Summer 17’!!
